Best Honolulu Venues for a Casino-Themed Event

After two decades of staffing casino parties across Oʻahu, we have strong opinions about which venues make casino setups sing — and which ones look great in photos but punish your load-in budget. Here are twelve we recommend without reservation, with the details that matter when you’re picking a room for tables, dealers, and 100+ guests.

Hotel ballrooms

Sheraton Waikiki (Waikiki)

One of the flagship Waikiki convention hotels. The Hawaii Ballroom holds 400–700 guests with room for 15–25 casino tables. Excellent freight access from the loading dock, experienced banquet staff, and the kind of high-ceiling oceanfront room that photographs casino tables beautifully. Our most-booked hotel venue for large corporate galas. Holiday season fills by August.

Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort (Waikiki)

The Coral Ballroom is one of the largest hotel ballrooms in the state, holding 200–500 guests cleanly and far more for cocktail-style events. Strong load-in logistics, a professional banquet team, and a classic Waikiki resort backdrop. The beachfront lawns and lanais make a stunning cocktail-hour area before guests move inside for the casino.

The Royal Hawaiian (Waikiki)

The “Pink Palace of the Pacific” has the most iconic interiors in Waikiki. The Monarch Room and Coronation Pavilion hold 200–350 guests. More intimate than the big convention hotels, with timeless architecture that suits upscale casino setups beautifully. The oceanfront Mai Tai Bar pairs perfectly as a cocktail-hour spot before heading to the casino.

Prince Waikiki (Kakaʻako / Waikiki)

A modern, flexible event hotel with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the harbor. The Pi’inaio Ballroom holds up to 400 reception-style. Load-in via the back-of-house freight elevator. One of the top corporate-event hotels on Oʻahu with an enthusiastic events team.

Dedicated event venues

Lanikuhonua (Ko Olina)

A breathtaking oceanfront estate and cultural site in Ko Olina. The most romantic venue we work at — lava-rock lagoons, swaying palms, and open-air pavilions. The grounds hold 200+ for reception-style events. Load-in is via the service road; coordinate on table logistics for the lawn setups. Casino nights here under the estate lights photograph like nothing else. Wedding and milestone birthday clients love this venue.

The Kāhala Hotel & Resort (Kāhala)

A legendary resort just past Diamond Head in the exclusive Kāhala neighborhood. The Maile Ballroom holds up to 350 guests, and the oceanfront lawns work beautifully for a 4–8 table casino setup paired with cocktails. Excellent for upscale corporate events, milestone birthdays, and smaller wedding receptions.

The Modern Honolulu (Ala Moana)

A sleek boutique hotel near Ala Moana with a sophisticated, design-forward aesthetic. The Sunrise and Sunset event spaces hold 150–250 guests. The contemporary interiors make casino setups feel chic and current. Load-in is straightforward via the parking structure. A favorite for tech and creative-industry corporate events that want something other than a traditional ballroom.

Hawaii Convention Center (Honolulu)

The largest event space on Oʻahu. The exhibit halls hold 500–2,000+ for cocktail-style events. Ideal for large nonprofit galas, government agency events, and major corporate conferences with a casino element. We’ve staffed 20+ table casino floors here. Excellent freight loading; professional venue staff.

Unique venues

Neal S. Blaisdell Center (Honolulu)

Honolulu’s civic event complex with multiple halls and the Galleria. The exhibition spaces hold 150–2,000 for cocktail events. The flexible, open layout makes casino setups easy to lay out at scale. Load-in is through the main service entrances. Popular for community fundraisers, association galas, and large corporate events that want an affordable big-box space.

Oʻahu Country Club (Nuʻuanu)

Classic country club ballroom in the cool greenery of Nuʻuanu Valley. Holds 200–400 for reception-style events. Excellent service access, an experienced catering team, and an open ballroom layout that fits casino tables cleanly. Popular for Honolulu and Windward-side corporate events and milestone birthdays.

Kualoa Ranch (Windward Oʻahu)

A working ranch with dramatic mountain backdrops and event barns on the windward coast. Casino nights here under the open sky are some of our most memorable events. Holds 150–300 outdoors. A weather backup plan is required; we coordinate with the venue on tent setup.

Private Kailua, Lanikai & Hawaiʻi Kai Estates

Many Kailua, Lanikai, Hawaiʻi Kai, and Ko Olina estate homeowners host 50–150 guest casino nights on their pool decks or in custom event tents. Some of our most personalized events. We handle table delivery, setup, and layout around whatever the property allows. Send us your address and we’ll tell you what fits.

What makes a venue great for casino setups

  • Freight elevator or ground-floor load-in. Casino tables weigh 120–240 lbs each. Stairs slow everything down.
  • Open floor area. You need 10′ × 10′ per table. A room broken up by columns or fixed furniture is harder to set.
  • Power access. Only matters if you’re adding slot machines or DJ-style emcee equipment.
  • Coat check and bag storage. Casino events run 3–4 hours; guests want their stuff stored.
  • Adequate lighting. Too dim and dealers can’t see chips. Too bright and the room loses atmosphere. Look for venues with dimmable wash lighting.

Our venue rolodex

The above is a starting point. We’ve also worked Ala Moana Hotel, Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach, Outrigger Waikiki, the Hale Koa Hotel, Mid-Pacific Country Club in Lanikai, Waiʻalae Country Club, Dole Cannery, and hundreds of private estates from Kapolei and ʻEwa Beach to Kailua, Kāneʻohe, and Mililani. If you have a venue in mind, ask — we’ve almost certainly run a casino night there.
